The Taiwan Heart Rhythm Society (THRS) was founded according to the Private Organizations Law on February 20, 2011. It is a nonprofit social organization for cardiac arrhythmia professionals and patients.
- To enhance the ability of heart rhythm specialists;
- To improve the care of cardiac arrhythmic patients by promoting application, research and education;
- To participate in international academic exchange with healthcare professionals worldwide.
With an aging of the population, the numbers and complexities of cardiac arrhythmic patients, and the demand of professional treatment for arrhythmia, are increasing. In recent years, the treatment and the academic study of cardiac arrhythmias in Taiwan has shown excellent progress. Following the hard work of our teachers, many electrophysiologists have dedicated themselves in the field of cardiac arrhythmia through academic researches and clinical services. Taiwan has, therefore, continuously played an important role in the field of cardiac arrhythmias around the world. With the establishment of heart rhythm societies in America, Europe, Japan, China and Korea, actively promoting improvements in cardiac arrhythmia research and patient care, we believed sincerely that it is essential to establish the Taiwan Heart Rhythm Society (THRS). We hope the establishment of THRS can funnel resources and expertise, and further improve the level of academic research.
and the quality of care for cardiac arrhythmic patients in Taiwan.
